I know that my husband is going to be successful. How do I know this? Because no matter what happens he won’t give up, he won’t quit. He so believes in what he is doing that failure is not an option.
I know this feeling. I had this myself. Several years ago when I was a single mother with three children and had a big mortgage to pay. When I bought my townhouse I had no idea how I was going to pay the mortgage. I knew that I really wasn’t making enough money, even though the bank thought so, because I had three children in private school. I was not making enough money to support both. But the house had the right feel and I knew that the house would be good for us so I said, “I don’t know how we are going to do it, but I will make it work.”
One of the savvy secrets to success is to truly believe. You have to believe it is possible to do what you want to do. In today’s world with so many naysayers and so many people ready to tell you why you can’t succeed–why it won’t work, it can be quite a challenge. But it is a challenge worth taking.
I know I had a lot of naysayers on my book, (myself being the loudest one). I read that you know you’re a writer only after you’ve failed, or when everyone else has turned you down. You know you’re a writer when you just keep on writing no matter what; despite the automatic negative thoughts in your head or your self-limiting belief, or whether the world buys one copy, or not. This is when you put the stake in the ground and you say, “I am a writer” and you write.
My father told me that I would never be a writer because I lacked discipline. He called me a “social butterfly”. Yes I was a social butterfly, flitting here and there, and not a very good connotation now; one I choose to let go of in 2015. Yes I am a butterfly in the fact that I have transformed…but I don’t flit! I intend to fly with purpose from one place to another to fulfill what I am supposed to be doing on this earth.
What are your goals for 2015 and what are you able and willing to commit too? What do you want to achieve and most importantly, how do you want to feel? Think about these questions and then know that you don’t have to do this all alone. I thought about writing my book for three years and then hired a coach and then joined a self-health book launch group so that together we can create a ripple effect in the world with our collective voices,
“YES, you can take control of your health and your life;
One bite at a time, one thought at a time, and one small step at a time.”
Thank you to my clients who are a continual inspiration to me as I witness your growth and transformation. I believe that 2015 will be even better!
