Mind over Matter

My husband and I are on a second honeymoon celebrating our 20th Anniversary. This has been a trip full of “firsts” for me. First time in Hawaii, first time taking a surfing lesson (or even attempting to surf!), and first time on a helicopter. Transformational growth happens just outside your comfort zone and all of these have been outside mine!

A common theme keeps coming to us. Your thoughts matter.

Thoughts become actions, which can manifest your wildest desires.

Here’s one example from a surfing lesson with Lolo, the Hawaiian owner of Maui Surf Culture.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more afraid of the ocean waves. I shared my fear with Lolo, our surfing instructor, and he said to leave that sh$t on shore.  He said Hawaii stands for

  1. Ha translated to the Breath….  Breathe
  2. Wai.. become one with the water and nature
  3. ii- become one with spirit.

Breathe, focus on being present, not the past or your fears, and focus on where you want to go. He had me aim for the trees on shore.

I said, I can do that. Afterall, I preach these things every day!

We had just done Eye-Level Whale Watching the day before. The humpback whales look at this water like a giant bathtub. So I kept telling myself, I’m just playing in a giant bathtub!

Above all, you have to believe that it is possible. This is where mind over matter is so very key to manifesting the life of your dreams.

Here I am breathing, being present and one with the water and nature!  Click on the picture below to view the video:

Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? Do you believe change is possible for you? Or do you let your ANTS, Automatic Negative Thoughts and self-limiting beliefs rule your life?

Next time you start to doubt yourself, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Am I sure this fear, worry, negative thought is true?

  2. Am I 100% sure that this is true?

  3. Is it possible that it may not be true

        1. (when the answer is Yes, then:)

  4. How would I feel if I didn’t have this fear/worry/negative thought?

  5. Can I feel this way now?

What is your biggest fear or worry that you would like to face and overcome this year? Please reply to this email if you would like to share with me.

To Your Health,
