Since my last post on simple solutions to prevent and combat the flu, I’ve been getting lots of questions on what supplements to purchase and from where. Especially now that we are asked to stay at home.

Fullscript, my professional dispensary, is where you can find many good options. This is deemed the safest source for practitioner-grade supplements and where I personally purchase for both myself and my clients. Their customer service is amazing and they usually ship the same day, which I love.

The biggest reason you should consider using this site is because you never know where supplements are sourced (or if they are fake!) when you buy them on the internet. This is a safe place that I trust for both my health and yours.

When you sign up for my dispensary I can share some of my favorite recommendations with you and you can search for what supplements are best for you and your unique body. If you’d like a personalized plan with testing, I can help you with that too.

Regardless of where you get your supplements, here’s my basic recommendation to boost your immune system for 5-7 days (and what you should always have on hand at home!):

10,000 IUs of Vitamin D3/K2
10,000 IUs of Vitamin A
2,000 IUs of Vitamin C (See previous post regarding taking more if symptomatic)
30-45mg of Zinc
A good probiotic

I also like to take Omega 3 fish oil to lower inflammation in addition to a good multivitamin. Vitamin literally means vital for life, so let’s not forget to take ours!

This is the documented minimum needed not to get a disease, like scurvy. As I mentioned previously, you need LOTS more vitamin C than recommended if you are under stress. Is there anyone out there watching the current news that is NOT under stress?

And remember, supplemental vitamins are just that…supplemental. You must take vitamins with food (hopefully wholesome), otherwise you are wasting your money.

Vitamins create enzymatic reactions with the food you are eating. Some of them are water soluble and some are fat soluble. This means fat soluble vitamins like A,D,E &K need to be taken with fat. I suggest you always take vitamins with a little bit of food not just for absorption, but for them to work their magic in your body.

This is my simple solution for prevention. Here’s the invitation to my online nutritional dispensary if you are in need of a quality source for supplements and vitamins. All you do is create an account and start shopping!
