The Coronavirus is everywhere. On the news. In your feed as you scroll through instagram. In line at the grocery store stocking up on toilet paper.

And all this chatter is causing people to panic. It’s causing fear.

But here’s the thing about fear: it negatively affects your immune system. The more fear and stress you feel, the less likely you are to be able to fight off the flu, virus or cold.

So let’s talk about the facts so that you are empowered rather than fearful.

What’s the cheapest, easiest, and safest way to protect yourself from a cold, flu, or virus?

What’s the simple solution?

Vitamin C.

Simply, take enough vitamin C to be symptom free.

That may be 1,000mg every couple of hours. It may be more or less. You can safely take vitamin C to bowel tolerance. (Yes, it’s what you’re thinking – take enough until your stools become loose). Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin. When you’ve reached your limit, the body’s wisdom will pull more water into the bowel for excretion.

In order to best be prepared on how to handle the coronavirus, I listened to Andrew Saul, a world-renowned expert’s, 90-minute discussion on vitamin C and the coronavirus. Here is what I learned:

1. The body needs vitamin C for a strong immune system. It needs more when you are sick.
2. 200mg of vitamin C will stop 8 out of 10 elderly people with severe pneumonia from dying. Studies in intensive care show 6-24mg/day is used.
3. Oral vitamin C is the best prevention. Take it in divided doses of 500mg-1,000mg at a time both with meals and in between meals.
4. Almost the entire animal kingdom makes their own vitamin C with the exception of humans and some primates. That means that we have to get it through food and supplementation.
5. The more stress you have, the more vitamin C you need in order to counter that stress.
6. In high doses vitamin C becomes antiviral. In higher doses it has been used to kill cancer cells. The famous Riordan Clinic in Wichita, Kansas has used this as an adjuvant therapy for decades.
7. The Coronavirus is the same kind of virus that causes the common cold and, as we know, viruses are constantly mutating. This is why there is no specific treatment or cure when it comes to the flu. Know that 95% of the population in China will recover and will not die. 98% elsewhere. Death outside of China is 1-2% which is similar to other flu epidemics. SARS death rate was 9%

I’m not the only one stating a good offense is the best defense. Even the Chinese Medical Association is advocating the use of vitamin C.

So, don’t fear. Instead simply don’t eat sugar, limit alcohol, and take extra vitamin C.

Carpe Diem,
